Neil Diamond’s New Zealand leg of his 50th Anniversary Tour begins with a concert in Christchurch next year. He is set to play in the southern garden city on March 15 2018.
The music legend and icon Neil Diamond will play at both Christchurch and Napier as part of his 50th Anniversary Tour.
Promoter Paul Dainty says this is one show “Diamond” fans will not want to miss. He has always been popular in NZ and this show will undoubtedly be a sell-out.
This tour is not just another tour. It is pretty momentous. It’s Neil’s 50th Anniversary. He will actually be celebrating his life in music and all those amazing songs he has written over many decades.
The Christchurch Concert is one of two Kiwi concerts on the NZ and Aussie Tour. Promoter Paul Dainty said this will be the last. The other show is set down for Napier on March 17 2018. This is the finale.
Christchurch and Napier have been described as unusual gig locations, but Neil Diamond wanted to do something different this very last time. The Rock and Roller Hall of Famer will headline the Mission Estate Winery Concert in Napier on March 17. Normally his tours include at least Auckland.
Christchurch seemed a great opportunity and had great history, including the tragic earthquakes. It made sense to hold a concert there. Neil Diamond is the consummate professional and totally committed to putting on the best possible show, every night.
According to Dainty, who is a close friend of Diamond’s and a godfather of one of Dainty’s children, this is the final tour!
Neil Diamond plays Christchurch AMI Stadium on March 15 2018, and Napier Mission Estate Winery on March 17, 2018.
